Very cool, and interesting as I have just been looking at small Colts...

Reminds me of the Smith and Wesson M39, 9mm.

Was this intended as some sort of General Officers service pistol? Im sure the answers are in the article but Im being lazy. Ill go back and read now.

Edit - read the article disregard.

Nice pistol. Im not getting a good idea of the scale of the gun but it looks like its big enough to actually be held by adult human hands yet still smaller than a compact full size. Problem with most small caliber pistols is they are too small to be useful. Put some better sights on it and this looks desireable. Colt not following through on stuff like this is why they find themselves in the sales hole.

"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."

The Pony is a great looking gun.

From that picture comparison Im guessing its about PPK sized. Maybe a little small. I think something the size of the Colt Pocket Hammerless is a good size for getting a grip and still being more concealable than full size or even a Commander. When I want to carry something small now I go with a S&W Model 36

As posted earlier the Pony reminds me of the lines of the S&W M39, a gun I have to get myself one of someday.
