  • Thunder Ranch Mid-Range Rifle with XM3s

Had the privilege of attending the Thunder Ranch Mid-Range Rifle course this weekend with a buddy from Texas with two suppressed XM3s, because one is none. They performed perfectly, with most shots between the 100 to 700 yard lines, and a few “prove that it can be done” shots at a tiny target at 925. The course is highly recommended! 11 out of 10!

Lots of love for the XM-3s…interesting that you’re both running S&Bs over the Nightforce.

Yes, we both decided upon S&B 3-12x50mm PMIIs over the more "clone correct" Nightforce NXS for the pure practicality of running a first focal plane, mil turret, mil reticle scope over a second focal plane, MOA turret, mil reticle scope for the course.

However, that's not to say the Marines didn't at least try out this same configuration as well.

All makes sense! Interesting to see the picture of the S&B on the XM-3. I always assumed some units / individuals swapped them out. Thanks for posting.
