Looks homemade to me. I can be wrong.

I just dont understand why make a base for a M1A with a Weaver 63B base for a Marlin gun on top? Doesnt make sense...

One of the few models of guns that has a flat top receiver. Practically all others have some curve to the receiver.

Left and center mounts looks awfully close to yours.

            Interesting post!

If I think about it I'll look in the "Long Range War" tonight. There is a section on scope mounts for the M14.

BT, you might call and remind me.

I just went thru the whole book.. Saw nothing that ressembles BT mount.

Except maybe on Page 113. where it says a mount was developed for a joint US Army/Leatherwood/Weaver program. So Weaver at some point, had something to do with M14/M21 scope mount.

The link shows two AR TEL mounts (left and center) and what looks like an AWC mount with the Griffin Howe rail removed. Nothing in Senich, Stevens or Emmerson I could see that resembles BT mount. I think it is an early commercial mount.

Yeah I went through the book last night and saw nothing that was close.

                        Bolt,

Does it appear to be anodized or painted? if its anodized it is most likely commercial or mil. as a note it was also modified after the finish was applied, it appears to be relived for the clip guide.

Just a nice vintage $30 mount also I think is a steal. That's just me but I love M14/M1A almost as much as a bolt gun. 😉
