    Wait!......There is more.

"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."

First coat is dry......I never cut the oil before. I am liking the effect with 50% citrus oil mix....

Went even older with a left hand, gain twist barrel inspired by Pope.

                    9.5:1 to 8.75:1 even gain.

If the rifle doesn't shoot it's me screwing around with the barrel.

Ill be shooting 168s and 175s.

1:10 would have been a no brainer but boring.

I fit it with a 16601 butt plate but when I saw the Beaver made a run of M40 stocks I backburnered this one for the trigger bump, cheekpiece stock.

Anyone looking for a good youth model stock. Would be good on a .223 Remington 700.
