    Interesting that no one here mentioned that the flip up caps issued with the M40 were made by E.D. Vissing. Model was called "Supreme". Vissing was later bought out by Butler Creek in the early-mid 1970s. In all my readings, I have NEVER seen it mentioned that Butler Creek supplied the military with caps for the M40.

    God I don't like how pic posting/editing here works.. Anyway, on the sheet, in the white space under the price and model, in red ink is marked Redfield 3x9 Vari. that can't be seen in the pic.

        This is info that was covered yeeeeeeeeears ago....there is so much literature on this that you can trip over it. Pick up a copy of Peter Senich's "One One Round War"....Covers the vast majority of what you need to know in regards to the VN era M700/40.
