  • Torque specs for optic mount?

Does anyone happen to know the torque specs for the mount/rings on an M40A1?
    Thanks for your help!

I only put 20 inch lbs on any 6-40 fastener.

I know plenty of guys that do it by feel... If you break the head off the little bolt, you used too much torque!

I've been known to get everything put together and then go "Crap, I forgot the thread lock!" : )

I'm a fan of letting the thread locker dry on the screw before using it. Once it's installed it will do its job.

Unfortunately I never plan ahead or get in too much of a hurry and install with wet threadlock.

For these small screws I'm a purple fan.

I'm leery of the cap screws after snapping one on a Badger repro M40 set.

Think I was working up to 15 IP when I snapped one.

Now I'm at 10-13 IP guy.
"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."
