  • NOS Smear

Very nice un-inletted smear a buddy of mine was nice enough to trade. Only a few known left in this condition. Has the rare “finger smear” pattern. Not going to build since it’s a piece of history but will make a nice display.

Maybe inlet it for a savage 10.............
"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."

Leaving that stock as-is is like marrying a Playboy Bunny and then taking a vow of celibacy...get that thing on a build!

I've been looking for that stock to build A Hathcock retirement presentation commemorative rifle. I have all the parts sans the smear blank.

That is one of the best looking camo patterns on a smear that I have seen... while I can appreciate your wanting to save a rare blank, I would have to put it on a rifle!
In fact I have just the rifle for it

The colors in this pattern look like a US Navy Seal stock M14 SSR that MescaBug posted quite aways back.
