Wow... I've never seen anything like that before! Almost has to be a bent scope??

The tubes on those scopes are really thin. Im kinda surprised we don’t see more of them bent.

It appears to be. When I rotate the scope on the rings, I see the gap between the bell and barrel open and close.

        Bummer.

I would be very hesitant trying to bend it back. If you go too far you’ll crack it.

        Can you get a zero?

Zero? No, I never shot the thing yet. I'm trying to figure out this issue before taking it to the range. Is there a shop that can take a look at it? Maybe Iron Sight Inc?

Well, anybody can look at it, but short of making a new tube section, or just replacing the scope, you might be stuck where you are.

If you can get a 100yd zero and live with the way it looks…..

Keep in mind the scope was probably like that for quite some time out in the FMF doing its job.

Did you get it from CMP?

If it's only cosmetic, then I can live with it but if it's going to affect my zero, than that's a different story. It's from the CMP.

You could try, gently, to put something between the barrel and scope to flex/pry it upward. Just be easy with it. One of those inflatable bladders like is used to get into a locked car would be ideal.

You could try to get the CMP to swap you another scope, but I’m pretty sure all those auctions say “sold as is.” Doesn’t cost you anything to ask.

What is the recommended torque on the rings so you don’t crush the tube.

If it moves under recoil, tighten it a little more.
