      Wonder if this.....

      https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/82/1508

      came from the same collection.
"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."

One guy was buying almost everything USMC related. I was watching the auction live all day. The same guy was winning a lot of items.

I was watching the auction almost all day and the guy won almost every USMC related item. 8x unertl, Remington 870 wing master USMC shot gun, 2 issued M17s, m70 sniper, m40a3, the Barrett, etc.

I didn't see what the M82A1 brought. But, I was watching the Remington 870 MK1. I think it brought north of $16 K. I could be wrong.

                    Damn!

My intended high bid was going to be $40,255.

I thought it would go higher.

How do you think I feel?! I had bid up to $40,245 on it!

But seriously, the realized price includes the buyer’s premium.

Should have never listened to my broker when said "Put the Barrett down! My partner Bernie Madoff will make you money!"

Don't let my wife know, but, I have two of the M82A1's. It may be time to sell!

It looks like the M40A3 didn't sell for some reason. Keep an eye out for it if your interested because it may come up in another auction.

There was no realized price listed so I called and they said it did not sell for some reason. The person I talked to did not know why
