  • McMillan M-83 with Smear Stock

So the recent posting about the McMillan prone style smear camp stock inspired me to post a couple pictures of this rifle.

It's a McMillan M-83 in .300 WM. It looks to be a sleeved Remington 700. It has a heavy contour fluted barrel and an early detachable box magazine. It's sporting an older Leupold Ultra 16x. I'm not sure what the story is with this rifle. I've always assumed it was a predecessor to the M-86.

Any my information on these would be appreciated.

The pictures must have been taken in Australia. Or somewhere in the southern hemisphere. LOL!
