Don’t have them yet but I put a bid on that consecutive pair of unertl’s cmp had ending last night. Assumed I’d get outbid but didn’t.

Actually if you got them near the price in the link you did very well but just to kick your balls in I know you know the rifles to mount on them will cost just as much if not more.

Fingers crossed Mrs Nors doesn't find out what you have been up to.

My my wife wishes I used the computer for porn.
"...But they would never find anything to beat the old Springfield ...the long sleek streamline, very slim but with potent bulges, all in the just exactly right places to give it that pugnaciously forward-leaning, eager look that marked the Springfield. Beside it, the M1 looked like a fat old man puffing with a lack of training...the two most beautiful things made in America were the ax-handle and the clipper ship? ...they should have added one more thing: The Springfield '03 rifle..."

I got the pair for $5800. Never thought I’d win. Mrs Nors had green lit an S&B for my A3 so this is just a minor overreach.

i have an MST for my a1 so probly end up selling that so no real damage done.

Am i the only one who noticed "i have an MST for my a1 so probly end up selling that...." Theoretically, how much would you be selling it for and what condition is it in?

On July 5, 2013 I bid on one of the early 10xs, converted to 50 cal, and won it for $2101. Over the years I have won 2 more non 50 cal 10xs, the latest last Dec for $2751. I now no longer look at the CMP auction page as they continue to dump the remaining inventory of the Unertl 10x scopes. When I won the auction back in 2013 it po’ed Orest so bad I was effectively banned from CMP. I was told a few years later that I “hurt” them badly, because they had budgeted selling the scopes for $5 K each, and my auction win upset their budgeted sales projections. I offered the 50 cal scope last fall on Gunbroker, no interest except low ball offers outside the auction. I do enjoy putting the 50 cal scope on my table at bigger gun shows, a lot of lookers ask to hold it........

It’s BNIB. Won’t sell it till I get these two in hand. The going rate seemed to be about $2800 but with the cmp scopes dropping to that range I might have to wait till those dry up to get that. Or I’ll have to build another rifle.

Scopes arrived today. Required signature so I took the day off to greet the Fedex driver. They're in great shape. The description for 1873 stated there were spots on the glass. That was true but it wiped right off with my lens cleaning kit. Glass is perfect. I wonder why they don't clean the glass if they find spots to determine if they'll clean up or not. Seems like that statement in the description probably lowered the price. I went backed and searched all the consecutive pairs and this one went for far less than any of the others. The others may have been more desirable regardless of 'spots on the lens' but I can't imagine it helps them sell. NOT complaining since it worked out for me.

Ha....ya, I was trying to get one and set the price of 2800....some have gone for less but not often. I saw the consecutive pair and thought, "once these are all sold, having a consecutive pair will add value so I'll bid 5800"......well, I got them. I think the prices will drop a 'little' more but not much....Once they're gone, the price will definitely go up. I have a buddy that bought one early on and it may be a while until he's even on his investment... He got a really cool one, though.
